Have you ever thought about creating an e-book or guest authoring on other sites? I have a blog based upon on the same subjects you discuss and would enjoy to have you share some stories/information. I know my visitors would value your work. In the event you are even remotely interested, feel no cost to shoot me an e mail.

I held my first "educational" seminar at the Golden Corral Buffet, which has a very wide variety of food, one price for all, and when it was all said and done, the cost was $174. but my ROI was $28,000. Not a bad day at the office. Most of these places have private rooms just for that purpose, as does Perkins Restaurants. Good food low cost, easy to find, and the room is small enough to give that one on one feeling to everyone in the room. Humor is always a winner.

Location really is key...especially in big cities. Choose a restaurant within 5 miles of your office. Everyone loves Italian food. If you're doing a dinner seminar ask the manager if you can order off the lunch menu to save a few bucks. To simplify things, only offer 1 or 2 entrées.

I'd like to see a follow-up article showing the statistics behind the list.

Thanks for an excellent list of places NOT to host a seminar. I still
remember showing up to speak at a seminar for someone that invited me
to speak at. Just as we got started after the meal, a local softball
team (all teenagers) showed up and the restaurant sat them just outside
of the door to the room where we were hosting the seminar. If their
celebration over winning the game wasn't enough, one of them also had
a birthday so of course, the entire wait staff had to sing to them.
When that happened, I simply stopped my presentation and asked our
attendees to join in the singing and afterward, we all shouted "Happy
Birthday". It was probably one of the best ice breakers that I could
have planned (even though I didn't) because people got to see that we
were real people and could think on our feet.
